Easter, 2009
Addie is now 1 year and 8 1/3 months old. Since Doug and Shari moved to Ponca City late last year (taking Addie as "hostage") I have to look for excuses to make the 4 1/2 hour trek to northern Oklahoma to see them. Easter this year is the latest of these excuses for which I was able to take advantage. Addie has not grown in height or weight much lately, but her speech and motor skills are improving so fast, a month between visits brings so many changes that my mind is "boggled".
Arriving in Ponca, late morning on Saturday, I find the weather will be fair and warm for the rest of the day but Easter Sunday will be solid rain. With this in mind, I head for my "outlaw's" (a.k.a. former inlaw's) house, Bruce and Raylene LeRoy. Shari, Doug and Addie join us for the afternoon. With a Sunday Easter egg hunt ruled out by weather, Addie's first 'hunt will be for plastic eggs that grandpa has filled with Dove (tm) chocolates this afternoon.
A great time was had by all during my visit and here are the best of the (processed) pictures taken Saturday afternoon:
Addie finds the first "plastic egg" and, after studious inspection, help in opening from grandpa and consumption of the enclosed chocolate surprise, grandpa brings the camera out. All of us play and laugh for an hour or so, passing the camera around. The following are the best of the pictures taken. Captions below each are from my imagination after reviewing the picture.
"Please open, Grandpa!"
"Are there more in here?"
Aunt Raylene and "Fletch" will help me find more eggs.....
".... like this one."
"Come back here, Fletch!"
"Will you hold on to these for me, Daddy?"
I think there's more over here, Daddy.
Yup - Here's one ....
There's room for lot's more, Daddy.
What's down here?
Watch me "Jump" out of this shadow!
What's over there?
Let's go fishing, uncle Bruce!
Hold me, Grandpa.
"Hold on and smile in the wind, Addie."
Ok - windy enough .... time to "get down!"
There's LOTS of room to run out here!
Oh boy! Some steps to climb!
Time to "ROCK!"
This bench is a perfect "fanny-fit"!
Don't let me fall, Uncle Bruce!
Trying on my new car seat while Mommy checks Daddy to see if he has a fever or a "sunburn"!
