It's April, 2008 in Texas.  Addie's first Spring season.  For those of you not fully indoctrinated in all of the traditions of Texas, pictures of beautiful ladies, dressed in their Springtime best posing in a bluebonnet (the protected, State flower of Texas) field is always a BIG DEAL!  For a lady's first Texas Springtime, the photos are an obligatory requirement for "Native Texan" status.

Doug and Shari got a VERY TALENTED local photographer, Anne Marie of Plano, (http://www.photosbyannemarie.com) to capture Addie's first Texas Spring day in a bluebonnet field, April 17, 2008.  As of this writing, Anne Marie still has copies of these photos on one of her web pages, encapsulated in a flash player presentation at:

I'm still trying to figure out how to do this kind of stuff on the web but, in the mean time, here's the "thumbnails" with accompanying text.  Click on any of the images below for a "full screen" view.

Somewhere over the Rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a Lullaby......
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dream of
Dreams really do come true
Some day I wish upon a star
Wake up where the Clouds are far behind .....
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that's where you find me ....
Somewhere over the Rainbow

Blue birds fly

And the dreams that you dare to
"Oh why, oh why can't I?"
I see trees of green and, red roses too.
I watch them bloom for me and you
and I think to myself,
"What a Wonderful World!"
I see Skies of Blue and I see Clouds of White,
And the brightness day - I like the dark
and I think to myself,

"What a Wonderful World".
The colors of the Rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also like the faces of people passing by.
I see friends shaking hands, singing, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, "I Love You".
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow.
They'll learn much more ....
than we'll know, and I think to myself,
"What a Wonderful World!"

Music credits:

"Over the Rainbow" - music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg.

"What a Wonderful World" - Source questionable but most credit Bob Thiele, George David Weiss and possibly George Douglas.

Artistic license taken with lyrics of each on this page by the author to suit the presentation .... with a lot of inspiration from the published music of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
